Josh Emmett vs. Dan Ige slated for UFC 269
After a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Josh Emmett will return to the octagon against a fellow top 10 featherweight opponent.
As first reported by BJPenn.com, the #7 ranked Emmett will take on Dan Ige, ranked #9, at UFC 269 on December 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Emmet (16-2) last fought in June 2020 where he defeated Shane Burgos via unanimous decision but in the process suffered a litany of injuries to his knee. Including a complete ACL tear as well as an MCL sprain with partial tearing, the 36-year old has been recovering from the injuries and has been sidelined ever since. Emmett is currently on a three fight winning streak after scoring KO wins over Michael Johnson and Mirsad Bektic.
Ige (15-4) meanwhile will enter the PPV event coming off of a decision loss to ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung in June of this year. Ige has exchanged wins and losses in his last four fights but has collected wins over the likes of Gavin Tucker, Mirsad Bektic and Edson Barboza under the UFC banner.
