“Money” Mike Breeden | 10-3 | 5’10 155 lbs. | Age 32 | Reach 70” | Orthodox Stance | Fighting Out of Lee’s Summit, Missouri
Mike Breeden (10-3) lost his 2020 Contender Series bout, but less than a year later his reputation has earned him an official promotional debut at UFC Vegas 38. “Money” rides a two-fight win streak coming into his first bout inside the octagon and he has a difficult matchup on his hands in the form of Alexander Hernandez – a fighter who is looking to get back on track after a tough loss.
Mike was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1992. The Breeden family is notorious in the area for their restaurant empire, and if Mike hadn’t found his passion in MMA he says he’d be managing the family business. Mike was a hefty 265 lbs in high school and his uncle introduced him to martial arts to get some exercise.
Mike made the journey to the gym and never looked back. Breeden says his coach was smart to his weight loss expedition and would “trick” him every fight into slowly going down weight classes until he found his footing at 155 lbs. Dating back to his amateur days, Breeden is 13-2 at lightweight and has never been finished.
Over his last six fights, ‘Money’ has gone 5-1 and is improving every fight. The move to nearby Lee’s Summit, MO to one of the best camps around with coach James Krause and Glory MMA is paying big dividends for the 32-year old. Although he lost on the Contender Series, he showed tremendous grit toughing out a dead leg from his opponent’s kicks and battling till the absolute end. His boxing levels up each fight and two decisive victories after that last ‘L’ brings a UFC contract to his door. Breeden is now set to make a well-deserved debut at UFC Vegas 38 and it all goes down Saturday, 10/2, at 4 PM ET.
