In the span of about 30 seconds in the third round, Darren Till went from his best moment of the fight to a submission loss at the hands of Derek Brunson.
After a quick start on the feet for the Scouser, the moment Brunson secured his first takedown in the opening round the American would dominate proceedings.
Landing heavy ground and pound through elbows which shut the right eye of Till, Brunson’s quality ground game made all the difference.
With Brunson once again controlling the fight in the second round, the third round would see Till stuff some of Brunson’s attempts to hit the mat.
With the contest remaining upright, Till would land his patented one-two combination and seemingly wobbled Brunson forcing the tempo to hit the next gear.
Sensing an opportunity to close the fight out, Till would close the distance only for Brunson to lock his hands behind ‘The Gorilla’ and pull his opponent to the ground and into mount.
With no other option to roll over in an attempt to regain his footing, Brunson would sneak in a rear-naked choke forcing a quick tap-out and his fifth consecutive victory.
