Khamzat Chimaev’s return to the octagon has been officially signed off on.

Announced by the UFC on Thursday, Chimaev is set to take on the #11 ranked welterweight contender Li Jingliang ta UFC 267 on October 30th.

Chimaev (9-0) quickly made huge waves since signing with the UFC in 2020 and has claimed both the record for the quickest three-fight win streak in modern UFC history (66 days) and the record for fastest consecutive wins in modern UFC history (10 days). ‘Borz’ has successfully finished all nine of his professional fights inside of the scheduled distance and most recently scored a 17-second KO over Gerald Meerschaert at the middleweight limit in September 2020.

After his quick start to UFC life, however, a hard battle with COVID-19 has seen the Russian-born Swedish fighter cancel multiple bouts and publically mull over an early retirement from competition.

Jingliang (18-6) meanwhile is a 14-fight UFC veteran who has won eight of his last 10 outings. ‘The Leech’ most recently competed in January of this year where he scored a first-round KO of Santiago Ponzinibbio. Of his 18 career wins, Jingliang has successfully won 13 via stoppage.
