Kevin Holland is set for a quick turnaround after an injury to Darren Till.
With Till scheduled to face Marvin Vettori in a five-round clash on April 10th, the Scouser was ruled out of the contest earlier this week after suffering a broken collarbone in training.
As per ESPN however, Holland will step in on short notice to take on Vettori matching a UFC record with Deiveson Figueiredo and Michael Bisping for a 21-day turnaround between main event bouts.
Holland (21-6) saw a five-fight winning streak come to an end in March after being on the wrong end of a unanimous decision to Derek Brunson at UFC on ESPN 21. Holland had also tied another promotional record in 2020 after picking up five wins in a calendar year, the most victories alongside Roger Huerta and Neil Magny. ‘Trail Blazer’ is currently ranked #10 in the UFC’s 185 lbs rankings.
Vettori (16-4-1) meanwhile will enter his second UFC main event coming off of a four-fight winning streak. With the Italian’s last defeat coming against current champion Israel Adesanya in 2018, Vettori has since bested Cezar Ferreira, Andrew Sanchez, Karl Roberson and most recently Jack Hermansson in one of the fights of 2020. ‘The Italian Dream’ is currently ranked #6 in the middleweight division.
