In classic Jan Blachowicz fashion, ‘Polish Power’ thrived in his role as the underdog.

Defeating Israel Adesanya who was attempting to become the latest double champion in the UFC, Blachowicz would dominate the later rounds as his weight and advantage in close quarters weighed on the smaller man.

Now the first man to defeat Adesanya in MMA and finding himself on a five-fight winning streak, Blachowicz can begin to stake his own claim for dominance at 205 lbs.

In the co-main event, Amanda Nunes made quick work of Megan Anderson at 145 lbs, once again providing a reminder that her position as the women’s GOAT is undeniable.

Quickly landing heavy punches in the stand-up, Nunes would steamroll Anderson as a right hand put Anderson down before the Brazilian quickly wrapped up a reversed triangle armbar.

With another title defence in the bag for the double champion, Nunes looks unstoppable and undefeatable for the foreseeable future.

Claiming the UFC bantamweight championship in an undesirable fashion, Aljamain Sterling would be crowned the new 135 lbs king after a blatantly illegal knee in the fourth round by Petr Yan.

Starting the bout at a hellacious pace, Sterling would not take a back foot for the opening 10 minutes but for a right hand in the opening stanza that stumbled Sterling.

Once the third round began, however, Yan patience began to pay dividends as his stalking striking style found openings on a noticeably tiring challenger.

With a failed takedown attempt in the fourth however, Sterling was left with one knee down with Yan standing above him. Despite a warning that Sterling was grounded by referee Mark Smith, Yan would blast his opponent with a flush knee that forced the bout to be waved off and disqualify Yan.
