Deiveson Figueiredo – Brandon Moreno rematch on tap for UFC 263
The anticipated flyweight championship rematch between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno has reportedly received a date.
With sources telling ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, the flyweight title bout is expected to take place on June 12th at what is expected to be UFC 263.
With their first meeting taking place in December 2020, the UFC 256 main event would end in a majority draw with most including the five-round fight as one of the best of the year.
Figueiredo (20-1-1) is unbeaten in his last six outings inside of the octagon, four of which being victories inside the scheduled distance. With 17 of his 20 professional wins coming via stoppage, the Brazilian would pick up the vacant 125 lbs championship in July 2020 with a first-round submission of Joseph Benavidez before securing his first title defense with another against Alex Perez.
Moreno (18-5-2) similarly is also unbeaten in his last six fights, two of which being ruled a draw. Moreno’s current run would start in LFA where he picked up their flyweight championship before returning to the UFC in 2019. Now in his second UFC stint, ‘The Assassin Baby’ has defeated the likes of Jussier Formiga, Brandon Royval and Kai Kara-France.
