After a fast start from Gilbert Burns, Kamaru Usman would rally back in emphatic fashion to secure a third-round TKO win.

With Burns opening up with heavy pressure, the Brazilian challenger would clip the champion with a right hand that saw Usman stumble to a knee.

From then on, however, Usman cranked up the pressure of his own with a piston-like jab controlling the fight for ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’.

With Burns noticeably starting to wilt at the end of the second round, a right hand of the champions own would land early in the third putting Burns to the mat. Usman would willingly follow in order to finish the job and a few more strikes saw referee Herb Dean wave off the contest.
