Bellator MMA is set to become the first major MMA promotion to hold an event in France.
As reported on Thursday by ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, Bellator are set to put on a fight card on October 10th, scheduled to take place in Paris.
The proposed card, which currently has no fights announced at the moment would be the first in major MMA history to be held in the European country. The sport had long been banned in France but was finally legalized at the beginning of 2020.

Bellator’s maiden voyage to France is not the first time that the promotion has become the first major MMA player to put on an event in a certain location. Bellator have regularly held fight cards in Israel since their first time in 2016 while the promotion was also the first to travel to Hawaii at the end of 2018.
