66 fights deep into his professional MMA career and Alistair Overeem is still defeating younger top contenders.

Handing Augusto Sakai his first UFC loss after a late barrage of ground and pound stretched over the fourth and fifth round, Overeem picked up his fourth win in his last five outings.

While Sakai certainly had his moments in a fight filled with clinch fighting, once Overeem got the fight to the mat, the bout swung massively in his favour.

Landing thudding elbows from top position, Overeem left Sakai with little in the way of reply as referee Herb Dean warned for the Brazilian to improve his position.

Saved by the horn at the end of the fourth, Overeem quickly scored a takedown in the final round and just a few more elbows was enough for Dean to wave off the bout and hand ‘The Demolition Man’ his 47th career win.
