UFC 252 Results: Miocic vs. Cormier
Bringing the curtain down on an enthralling trilogy and the career of Daniel Cormier in the process, Stipe Miocic edged out Cormier on the judge’s scorecards after a gruelling 25-minute clash.
With both men ending the first two rounds with damaging blows, Cormier in the first and Miocic a heavier knockdown in the second, the remainder of the bout would see the two competitors battle back-and-forth in the clinch and in close.
While Cormier would no doubt have his moments, Miocic’s larger frame saw him wear heavy on ‘DC’ against the cage while his punches seemingly had more impact – and an eye poke cause considerable damage to boot.
Now with Cormier set to bid farewell to competition, Miocic can decisively call himself the greatest heavyweight in UFC history.
