After weeks of uncertainty, Darren Till vs. Jared Cannonier looks set to go ahead at UFC 248.

Cannonier had originally been expected to compete against former 185 lbs champion Robert Whittaker at the March 7th event but Whittaker withdrew from the bout soon after official confirmation due to personal reasons.

Ever since, Cannonier has been left without an opponent – not for a like of trying – and had been expected to operate as an alternate for the middleweight championship main event between Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero.

Taking to Twitter on Monday however, Darren Till has seemingly answered the call to fight Cannonier proclaiming that he has told the UFC he is ready to fight on March 7th.

Till had originally been tipped to replace Whittaker but a reported ankle injury and disagreement over pay kept him from accepting the bout.

Now with those situations purportedly resolved, a middleweight title eliminator looks set to be confirmed for UFC 248.
