After a gruelling three rounds that primarily took place in close quarters, Cris Cyborg scored a fourth-round TKO win over Julia Budd to become the first fighter in MMA history to hold a world championship in four major promotions.
With Budd slowing down as her Brazilian foe retained her power, a flurry of strikes early in the fourth left Budd pinned against the cage and nowhere to turn to. Finally, a heavy body kick brought an end to proceedings and cemented Cyborg’s name in the history books.
