Bellator puts on their first event of the decade this Saturday night as a strong fight card in Bellator 238 emanates from The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Headlined by the promotion’s new marquee signing, Cris Cyborg (21-2, 1 NC) will challenge for the featherweight championship as the Brazilian takes on the inaugural and lone Bellator 145 lbs champion in Julia Budd (13-2).

Cyborg’s move to Bellator sees her reunited with Bellator president Scott Coker after the MMA head honcho set her on her way to stardom in their Strikeforce days. For Cyborg to claim her fourth promotional world championship, however, the 34-year old will have to bring an end to Budd’s 11-fight winning streak which dates back to 2012.

Elsewhere at Bellator 238, the co-main event billing sees a continuation of the promotion’s male featherweight grand prix as former champion Darrion Caldwell (14-3) will battle the undefeated prospect Adam Borics (14-0) in the second quarter-final match-up.

Also on the main card, Sergio Pettis (18-5) makes his promotional debut against fellow bantamweight Alfred Khashakyan (11-4), featherweight top contenders Juan Archuleta (23-2) and Henry Corrales (17-4) will square off while former kickboxing star Raymond Daniels (1-1) continues his MMA career against Jason King (8-5, 1 NC).

Add in fights for other notable members of the Bellator roster in Aaron Pico (4-3), former boxing champion Ava Knight (1-0), AJ Agazarm (2-1) and Curtis Millender (17-5) and Bellator 238 looks set to be a great start to the year for Bellator MMA.
