After putting together a four-fight winning streak in the featherweight division, Dan Ige will get the chance to enter the UFC’s top 15 rankings.
As first reported by MMAJunkie, Ige will take on the current #13 ranked Mirsad Bektic in ‘a yet-to-be-announced UFC event’ scheduled for February 8th.
Ige (12-2) has put together a 4-1 UFC record since joining the promotion through Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2017. Ige would drop his UFC debut against Julio Arce via unanimous decision but ‘Dynamite’ has since rattled off four consecutive wins with two of those wins coming inside the distance.
Bektic (13-2) meanwhile will enter the Octagon in February for the first time since suffering a first-round TKO loss to Josh Emmett in July. The Bosnian-American has put together a 6-2 UFC record since signing in 2014 and most notably holds a win over former title challenger Ricardo Lamas.
