Jon Jones makes plea deal in strip club case
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has taken a plea deal concerning an alleged incident in an Alburqueque strip club.
Jones, 32, took a plea deal this Tuesday in Bernalillo County, New Mexico Metropolitan Court, as he pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct for the April 2019 incident.
As a result of Jones’ deal, the 205 lbs champion received a 90-day deferred sentence and during that period of time, ‘Bones’ must ‘avoid arrest or violating the law, consume no alcohol or drugs, be under unsupervised probation, not return to the scene and pay court fees’ per documents obtained by ESPN.
Jones had been charged with battery in April after a cocktail waitress accused him of slapping her in her genital region, pulling her down into his lap and kissing her neck, according to the criminal summons. The woman also told police that Jones picked her up off the ground in a chokehold and when she asked him to stop, Jones would continue touching her until he deciding to leave the establishment
Jones had initially pleaded not guilty to the battery charge and in New Mexico, a plea of ‘no contest’ is not considered a concession of the charge with the admission of guilt.
