Francis Ngannou joins ‘Fast & Furious 9’ cast
Top UFC heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou is set to make his silver screen debut.
Reported first by Deadline, Ngannou will join the latest instalment of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise next year in the yet to be titled ‘Fast and Furious 9’.
Ngannou will become the third MMA fighter to be featured in the long-running franchise after women’s MMA pioneers Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey appeared in ‘Fast & Furious 6’ and ‘Furious 7’ respectively.
Ngannou’s role in the film is yet to be revealed.
‘The Predator’ was last seen in the Octagon in June of this year as he extended his current winning streak to three with a first-round KO over former champion Junior dos Santos. The 32-year-old has won each of his last three bouts inside the first round including a 26-second KO of former UFC champion Cain Velasquez in the main event of ‘UFC on ESPN 1’.
