Zabit Magomedsharipov is set to take on a home crowd favourite in his next outing.
Per ESPN with confirmation from UFC president Dana White, featherweight prospect Magomedsharipov will take on Massachusetts’ own Calvin Kattar in the co-main event of UFC on ESPN 6 on October 18th in Boston.
Magomedsharipov (17-1) has gone 5-0 since joining the UFC in 2017 and is currently ranked at the #5 featherweight contender. The 28-year-old has won 13 of his 17 professional victories inside the distance and most recently defeated Jeremy Stephens in March via unanimous decision at UFC 235.
Kattar (20-3) meanwhile will look to build upon the biggest win of his career after scoring a first-round knockout against former title challenger Ricardo Lamas in June. Kattar currently sits at #11 in the UFC’s 145 lbs rankings and has gone 4-1 since joining the promotion in 2017.
UFC on ESPN 6 is now set to feature:
