Dana White: Cejudo should defend flyweight title first
UFC president Dana White has outlined his plans for the immediate future of dual-champion Henry Cejudo.
With Urijah Faber making a triumphant return to the Octagon on Saturday night, the former WEC champion looked to ignite a war of words with the promotion’s bantam and flyweight champion in an attempt to jump the queue for a shot at UFC gold.
While Faber’s words have caught the attention of Cejudo, Dana White has suggested that ‘Triple C’ should ignore the bantamweight division for now and return to 125 lbs upon his return from injury.
“You’d have to look at Joe (Benavidez),” White said to TMZSports when asked who would be next for Cejudo. “Next he should defend that title. He would go to 125, defend that title, then we would decide who he fights next. As long as Cejudo is willing to defend both titles, I think he is a guy who can carry both of them, both divisions.”
