Cub Swanson vs. Kron Gracie slated for October clash
Kron Gracie’s ascension through the featherweight division will get a sharp step-up in competition in his next outing.
As per a report by Brett Okamoto for ESPN, Gracie is close to having a bout against veteran Cub Swanson finalised for UFC Fight Night 161 on October 12th.
Swanson (25-11) is a 17-fight veteran in the UFC but is currently on the worst-run of his career having lost his last four in the Octagon. The 35-year old’s skid started in December 2017 and has seen him lose to top 15 ranked fighters Brian Ortega, Frankie Edgar, Renato Moicano and Shane Burgos. Despite ‘Killer Cub’s’ downturn in form, Swanson still holds a 10-7 record under the UFC banner.
Gracie (5-0) meanwhile is only one-fight into his UFC career, a first-round submission win over Alex Caceres in February of this year. The jiu-jitsu ace has won all five of his professional MMA bouts via submission and is the latest from the Gracie family to fight for the UFC.
