While both champions successfully defended their belts at UFC 239, the two champions had very different nights.
In the night’s first title fight, women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes continued her incredible run as two-weight champion as ‘The Lioness’ scored an emphatic first round TKO win over Holly Holm.
With a thudding head kick that put Holm down, Nunes would follow up with a few shots on the ground to further her claim as the greatest women’s fighter of all time.
In the main event meanwhile, Jon Jones may count himself fortunate to leave Las Vegas still champion as a lackadaisical performance combined with a visibly injured Thiago Santos allowed him to eke out a split decision win.
Jon Jones def. Thiago Santos via split decision (47-48, 48-47, 48-47)
