While Henry Cejudo’s immediate future as UFC flyweight champion is up in the air, the former Olympic gold medalist will have peace of mind after picking up the vacant bantamweight championship.

Following a tricky first-round against Moraes where the Brazilian’s size and kicking ability caused problem after problem, Cejudo adjusted in the second and third to get inside and punish his opponent.

With little left of the third round however, Cejudo jumped on an anaconda choke attempt that grounded an increasingly dejected Moraes. From there, Cejudo bailed out of the submission attempt and a barrage of elbows and punches on the ground gave referee Marc Goddard no choice but to stop the bout and cement Cejudo as the latest ‘double champ’ in the UFC.

Meanwhile in the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko scored a knockout of the year contender against Jessica Eye with a brutal head kick while Tony Ferguson continued to make history as he extended his win streak to 12 after forcing a doctor’s stoppage against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.
