UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed that he does not have any regret about sparking a mass brawl after defeating Conor McGregor at UFC 229, as revealed on the Independent.
Khabib dominated McGregor in October and secured a victory by submission before the Russian leapt over the cage and started a brawl with McGregor’s team.
Khabib has been fined $500,000 and given a lengthy nine-month suspension from the sport, whilst McGregor received a $50,000 fine and a six-month ban.
I’ve had many situations in my life that I regret, you can’t turn back time.
But this is not on the list of things I regret. If the situation happened again 100 times, I would do the same thing 100 times.
I don’t have a gram of regret about my actions. Some people liked it, some people didn’t. It makes no difference. I did what I wanted to do.
Both bans have been backdated to 7th October, which is when the incident took place.
