Magomedsharipov (16-1) has gone unbeaten in his four UFC bouts thus far and finished all but one of his opponents inside the distance. The 27-year old Russian fighter most recently competed at UFC 228 in September where he recorded a rare Suloev Stretch submission victory over Brandon Davis.
Stephens (28-15) meanwhile has yet to fight since a first-round knockout loss to Jose Aldo in July. ‘Lil Heathen’ had been on a three-fight winning streak until the Aldo bout where the 32-year old had defeated Gilbert Melendez, Doo Ho Choi and Josh Emmett.
The Stephens – Magomedsharipov becomes the fourth bout announced for UFC 235 in Las Vegas joining Robbie Lawler vs. Ben Askren, Tecia Torres vs. Weili Zhang and Diego Sanchez vs. Mickey Gall.
