Zabit Magomedsharipov will look to continue his rise up the featherweight rankings in the new year as he is confirmed to face his toughest competition yet.

Made official by the UFC on Tuesday, Magomedsharipov is set to take on the #6 ranked Jeremy Stephens at UFC 235 on March 2nd.

Magomedsharipov (16-1) has gone unbeaten in his four UFC bouts thus far and finished all but one of his opponents inside the distance. The 27-year old Russian fighter most recently competed at UFC 228 in September where he recorded a rare Suloev Stretch submission victory over Brandon Davis.

Stephens (28-15) meanwhile has yet to fight since a first-round knockout loss to Jose Aldo in July. ‘Lil Heathen’ had been on a three-fight winning streak until the Aldo bout where the 32-year old had defeated Gilbert Melendez, Doo Ho Choi and Josh Emmett.
