A fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor was never going to be a sedate affair.
After the Dagestani sealed his fourth round victory via submission against the Irishman, Nurmagomedov decided he wasn’t quite done throwing the fists.
Scaling the cage, ‘The Eagle’ took his name to new levels of literalness, and propelled himself towards McGregor’s team. Members of Nurmagomedov’s team then entered the cage and set about confronting McGregor.
With Nurmagomedov and McGregor set to appear before the Nevada State Athletic Commission on December 10 to answer their charges, it has emerged they will not be the only individuals at risk of sanctions.
JOE report that Dillon Danis, Zubaira Tukhugov, Abubakar Nurmagomedov, Rizvan Magomedov and Esedulla Emiragaev will also face punishment from the NSAC.
Danis – McGregor’s Jiu-Jitsu coach – was supposedly the target of Nurmagomedov’s leap from the cage, after antagonising the fighter during the contest.
Multiple members of Nurmagomedov’s team were detained by Las Vegas police, but were released after McGregor refused to press charges.
UFC President Dana White had claimed that anyone involved in an attack on McGregor would never fight for the organisation again, although Islam Makhachev has been scheduled to fight at UFC 233 despite being linked with a role in the melee.
