Conor McGregor signs new six-fight deal with UFC
Conor McGregor has signed a new six-fight deal with the UFC which is set to reward the Irishman with the highest purse in promotional history.
Speaking after the first UFC 229 press conference last night, UFC president Dana White confirmed the undisclosed deal for McGregor and also that ‘The Notorious One’s’ own whiskey brand ‘Proper Twelve’ would sponsor each event he fights at.
“Conor knows exactly what he’s worth and what he expects to get,” White said. “At the end of the day, he’s worth it. We were just looking at the streams and this press conference beat the highest rated May/Mac [press tour stream]. The kid is brilliant and not only can he talk, he shows up and he fights. He will fight anybody, anywhere, anytime.
“So it was not hard to get a deal done with Conor McGregor because we also know what he’s worth.”
White would also go on to predict that UFC 229 will be the biggest PPV in the promotion’s history stating: “We’re trending at 2.5 million pay-per-views. It’s one of the biggest ever. Not just the UFC, but ever.”
