Conor McGregor is making so much money, that UFC president Dana White has said he might as well be one of the organisation’s owners.
The Irishman will make his comeback to the Octagon against Khabib Nurmagomedov on October 6 in Las Vegas for what promises to be one of the most lucrative fights in the UFC’s history.
The scheduled bout will see McGregor attempt to win back his old lightweight title and comes with a fair amount of bad blood between the two competitors.
Words have been exchanged between the pair, and when the two square off in Nevada the eyes of the world will fall upon the most eagerly anticipated mixed martial arts contest of all time.
White is all too aware of the financial implications of the contest too, particularly of his unpredictable poster-boy McGregor:
He’s not a part owner,
He might as well be though. He’s making so much money. He’s making so much money he might as well be a part owner.
The Dubliner placed fourth on Forbes’ sporting rich list earlier this year, finishing behind Floyd Mayweather, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi with an estimated worth of $99 million.
