UFC president Dana White has revealed that he is not even thinking about Conor McGregor’s return to the sport due to the Irishman’s ongoing court case.
There have been reports from McGregor’s camp that fight negotiations with Khabib Nurmagomedov have commenced but White has spoken out quickly to play down those reports.
McGregor is due in the Brooklyn Criminal Court on July 26th and White has insisted that nothing will be confirmed until all legal proceedings are sorted out.
When speaking at the UFC 226 post-fight press conference, White said:
You know what? I’m not even thinking about Conor. I know [McGregor’s camp] say there are talks but we’re not talking about a fight right now.
Conor has to get through July; he has to get through July. Whatever is going to happen to him in July, we’ll figure that out.
I don’t know what’s going to happen, is he going to get fined, be on probation, is he going to get this, that. When that is over with, then we will start talking about him fighting.
McGregor and Khabib are both eager to fight one another due to their personal feud and a fight between the pair is sure to go down in history as a classic encounter.
