Two of the biggest hitters in heavyweight history are all set to square off.
Reported by Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting, Francis Ngannou will step back into the octagon for the first time since a failed championship bid against Derrick Lewis at UFC 226 on July 7th.
Ngannou (11-2) last fought at UFC 220 in a decision loss to Stipe Miocic – snapping a 10 fight winning streak which saw the Cameroonian finish all 10 bouts prematurely.
Lewis (19-5, 1 NC) meanwhile last competed in February of this year where ‘The Black Beast’ scored a third-round TKO victory over Marcin Tybura. Lewis has gone 7-1 in his last eight bouts with only one of his 19 career wins going to the judges’ scorecards.
The Las Vegas event is also set to feature:
- Stipe Miocic vs Daniel Cormier – UFC heavyweight title fight
- Raphael Assuncao vs Rob Font
- Gokhan Saki vs Khalil Rountree Jr.
- Yancy Medeiros vs Mike Perry
