Modified MMA rules for Mayweather-McGregor revealed
The adapted mixed martial arts rules that will be used in a potential rematch between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have been revealed.
With their original boxing match ending in a tenth round stoppage in favour of the 50-0 American, the idea of a rematch on McGregor’s ground was something that was soon suggested.
If the rematch bout does come to fruition, however, the rules of such a contest have been revealed by Omar Al Raisi of the Dubai Sports Journal and they are predictably restrictive.

According to Al Raisi, a potential bout will see the same equipment and time used in an MMA fight – 4 oz gloves, barefoot and 25-minutes – but with none of the extra techniques which are permittable in mixed martial arts.
Forbes have also reported that the fight would take place on a UFC card, but following McGregor’s public and criminal outburst at the Barclays Arena prior to UFC 223 last week, it seems there may be some delay in that regard.
Regardless of under what jurisdiction this fight takes place, the shameless money-making carousel continues to evolve at a depressingly increasing velocity.
