After a spectacular performance against Donald Cerrone, rising welterweight prospect Darren Till has received yet another steep step-up in competition.
Announced by Dana White during a Q & A on Tuesday, Liverpool’s own Darren Till will take on one of UFC 217’s big winners in the #1 ranked contender Stephen Thompson on February 24th. The February event had initially been announced as taking place in Orlando, Florida but White confirmed that the UFC are changing their plans and are now taking UFC Fight Night 127 to England instead although White did not reveal whether the event will emanate from Till’s hometown.

Till (16-0-1), is currently 4-0-1 in his five-fight tenure with the UFC and most recently dominated Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in his first main event en route to a first-round TKO victory.
Thompson (14-2-1) meanwhile, has twice challenged for the UFC’s welterweight title, drawing the first before a majority decision loss in the rematch to Tyron Woodley. With ‘Wonderboy’ now taking the Till bout in February, the karate-based fighter will see a quick turnaround in competition after successfully defeating Jorge Masvidal at UFC 217 this past Saturday.
