Fabricio Werdum vs. Alexander Volkov set for UFC: London main event
While it may not feature the fans choice of Darren Till in the main event, the UFC’s return to London on March 17 will see a heavyweight title eliminator in the headline berth.
Announced officially via the UFC Europe Twitter account, former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum will take on the #7 ranked Alexander Volkov in the main event of UFC Fight Night 127.

Werdum (23-7-1) has gone 3-1 in the UFC since losing his title to current champion Stipe Miocic and has recorded back-to-back wins over Walt Harris at UFC 216 and Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Night 121. With Werdum’s next outing now scheduled, UFC Fight Night 127 will mark the third time that the Brazilian has fought in the U.K under the UFC banner, losing his promotional debut to Andrei Arlovski at UFC 70 before defeating Brandon Vera at UFC 85.
Volkov (29-6) meanwhile is unbeaten in his three-fight UFC career and most recently stopped Stefan Stuve in his first promotional main event at UFC Fight Night 115. The 6’7″ Russian has successfully claimed both the M-1 Global and Bellator heavyweight titles during his career.
