Not content with his recent demolition of an all-time great, UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway will have a quick turnaround as he prepares to take on another legend.

In a re-booking of the original UFC 218 main event, Max Holloway will look to successfully defend his 145 lbs belt for the second time as he takes on former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 222.

The UFC confirmed earlier reports with an announcement on Twitter while UFC 222 will take place on March 3rd in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Holloway (19-3) is currently on a 12-fight win streak with his last loss coming at the hands of Conor McGregor in 2013. Alongside Holloway’s impressive win streak, the Hawaiian has picked up a host of records during his UFC tenure including the most stoppage victories in featherweight history (9) and the most overall wins in the division’s history (14). The 26-year-old was also named as the Fighter of 2017 by the UFC after back-to-back stoppage wins over Jose Aldo.

Edgar (22-5-1), meanwhile, will enter the March 3rd bout with back-to-back wins under his belt over Jeremy Stephens and Yair Rodriguez. ‘The Answer’ has only lost to Jose Aldo since moving down to the featherweight division and has lost only one fight in his career outside of UFC title bouts. The 36-year old holds notable wins over Sean Sherk, Hermes Franca and Urijah Faber in addition to three wins over B.J Penn. Edgar also holds the UFC record for the most amount of time spent in the UFC octagon at 6 hours, 27 minutes and 49 seconds.
