The UFC’s penultimate event of the year delivered finishes, upsets and most importantly, may well have secured a new number one contender in the welterweight division.

In a dominant five-round performance, Rafael dos Anjos’ incredible stamina was on show as the former lightweight champion battered away at Robbie Lawler with a diverse arsenal of strikes.

Chopping away at Lawler’s legs, and possibly accentuating an already sustained injury, Dos Anjos left ‘Ruthless’ Robbie with little mobility and reliant upon his trademark toughness to see out the final bell.

With the Brazilian claiming his third win of the year at his new home of 170 lbs, there are few who could argue against a title shot being in Dos Anjos’ near future.

Elsewhere at UFC on Fox 26, Josh Emmett recorded one of the biggest upsets of the year with a first-round knockout of Ricardo Lamas, Santiago Ponzinibbio’s smart footwork and shot selection earned himself a decision over the dangerous Mike Perry while Glover Teixeira made light work of Misha Cirkunov the moment the fight hit the ground.

With no major MMA events until December 30th, there’s plenty of time to match make for the big winners of UFC on Fox 26 so here are five fights to rubber stamp over the festive period:
