In his first fight since losing the UFC welterweight championship, Robbie Lawler is set to step back into yet another potential firefight.

After receiving confirmation from UFC president Dana White, Brett Okamoto of ESPN was the first to report that Lawler has been added to UFC 213 and will take on Donald Cerrone.

Lawler (27-11, 1 NC) last fought at UFC 201 in a first-round losing effort in July of last year. Prior to his title loss to Tyron Woodley, ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler had gone on a five-fight win streak in the UFC with victories over the likes of Johny Hendricks, Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit.

‘Cowboy’ Cerrone (32-8, 1 NC) meanwhile will also head into the July event on the back of a loss after suffering a TKO loss at the hands of Jorge Masvidal at UFC on Fox 23. Cerrone had also been on an impressive winning streak of his own prior to his last performance in a run of 4-0 since a move up in weight class.

A Lawler – Cerrone fight had previously been scheduled for UFC 205 last year but was quickly squashed by Lawler after deciding to take more time away from the cage.
