After calling his next shot at UFC: Fortaleza, Kelvin Gastelum is set to square off against another legend.

Coming just three days after a first-round TKO victory over Vitor Belfort, Gastelum has been confirmed to take on the middleweight G.O.A.T in Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva at UFC 212.

Gastelum (14-2) is currently on a three-fight win streak in the UFC with his last two victories coming at his new home of 185lbs. After several missed attempts at making the welterweight limit, Gastelum was coerced into moving to the middleweight division by the UFC and the result has paid dividends for the 25-year-old who is currently ranked at #10 in the promotion’s rankings.

Anderson Silva (34-8, 1 NC) meanwhile bounced back into the win column for the first time in four years at UFC 208 with the Brazilian fighter picking up a unanimous decision victory over Derek Brunson.

‘The Spider’ has had a tough time in the Octagon since losing his middleweight title to Chris Weidman at UFC 162. Silva broke his leg in his scheduled rematch with Weidman before a return bout against Nick Diaz was ruled a no contest due to both fighters testing positive for banned substances. Silva would then go on to lose decisions to both Michael Bisping and Daniel Cormier before ending his torrid run at Derek Brunson’s expense in February.

UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is now scheduled to feature:

  • Jose Aldo vs. Max Holloway – UFC featherweight title unification bout
  • Claudia Gadelha vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz
  • Antonio Carlos Junior vs. Eric Spicely
  • Johnny Eduardo vs. Matthew Lopez
  • Marco Beltran vs. Deiveson Alcantara
  • Kelvin Gastelum vs. Anderson Silva
